Description

This book is now quite scarce. If you canfind a copy, expect to pay around £150 for it. In common with several other books in BTT it was published as an anniversary celebration (in this case a centenary)  and turned out to be a swansong, because the firm closed soon afterwards).

In common with several other British loco building companies, Kitson´s suffered a downturn in business, the financial position in their case made worse by heavy expenditure on developing the Kitson – Still Diesel/steam locomotive. This ingenious but complicated machine used steam in one end of the cylinders and diesel ignition in the other, Despite much work, fully described in this book it was not a success.
