Description

George Chandler was Librarian of the City of Liverpool and was therefore well placed with access to local records and newspaper files to research and write this book. While it is described as “A Short History” it is pretty comprehensive, dealing with shipping services up to 1 January 1958.

It therefore portrays Liverpool shipping just past the zenith of post WWII activity, before the containerisation revolution took hold.
