Description

This tiny booklet contains a wealth of information. Mears operated steamer trips up the river Thames from Westminster Pier to Kew, Richmond, Kingston and Hampton Court. Also motor launch services between Richmond and Staines. Fares and times for all these are given. At their Kingston base, punts, dinghies and skiffs were available on, hire at charges ranging from ten guineas for the season, to one shilling per hour on a weekday. Motor launches could also be hired, and this enterprising firm also ran regular direct services in their fleet of “First Class Saloon Coaches” to South Coast resorts.
