Description

Obviously inspired by the popular spoof history book “1066 and All That” the title is misleading because the history in here, if sometimes treated in a light hearted fashion, is accurate. Covering a journey down the Thames from The Pool to Southend, Margate, Ramsgate and Clacton, despite the many changes which have taken place, this booklet would still be an agreeable and informative companion on such a journey today. On the other hand, considerable pleasure can be enjoyed at home, by imagining a nostalgic trip on the “Crested Eagle” with a “First Class” lunch in the restaurant, accompanied by a wide choice of beverages. This seems to have been a special publication for Jubilee Year.
